Yoga "teacher" trainings

A 200 hour yoga teacher training cannot make you a yoga teacher.

From everything I have learned from authentic lineage teachers, true masters spend their entire lifetimes practicing the path of yoga, and they still do not consider themselves teachers until their Guru authorizes and commands them to teach. Even then they do so with humility, understanding the deep responsibility that teaching the path rests on their shoulders. Such humility is cultivated over years upon years of dedication to the practice.

The idea that anyone can do a 200 hour teacher training and become a yoga teacher is a lie.

Therefore, 200 hour yoga teacher trainings are fraudulent. Any institution offering 200 hour yoga teacher trainings is corrupt.

There might be people and organizations from authentic lineages who are also doing this. There are 3 possible reasons for why:

1. They are corrupt, unaccountable to their lineage, and are trying to capitalize on the popularity of yoga,

2. Their internalized oppression is so deep that they do what the white and western supremacist empire tells them,

or 3. They know it's corrupt, wrong, immoral, but they see how deeply entrenched Hinduphobia is throughout the world and they're trying - in a misguided way - to bring people back to an authentic tradition by throwing out the lure of a 200 hour teacher training.

All of these reasons are wrong. The third is the most benign but it is also the most dangerous because it means that they have used capitalist manipulation to bring people into their path and they are giving these manipulated fake yoga “teachers” the street credibility of their lineage. Such fake “teachers” who come out of these trainings are almost impossible to stop because they think they became teachers the "right way".

A 200 hour yoga teacher training is never the right way.
